My daughter who was with my son at the time this 'accident' happened insists that the mother was not outside when this took place. I wonder then what makes this mother think that my five year old threw the baseball at her son's face on purpose? I unfortunately was not present when this accident occurred so can only take my daughter's word for how everything went down.
I tend to believe my daughter's version of events since I have not once ever seen this other mother outside with her children supervising them when they play at the park. This mother has every right to be upset as a broken nose requiring surgery is a big deal, especially for a child, but it was an ACCIDENT! What I do not understand is why she apparently was trying to find my house the night the accident occurred to give me a piece of her mind.
It was an accident, things like this happen all of the time when kids play together. If she was outside like she claimed to be, why was she not the first one on the scene? Why did the older sister have to take the kid with the broken nose into the house to find the mother? All I know is that my son has felt terrible about this event since it happened and has apologized. I have been upset because of the claim he did it on purpose. Hopefully with time things will smooth over!
