Like any good writer, research is essential so I went about Googling various topics on blogging and trying to find that one great idea. Most of the how-to sites suggest finding your 'niche' and writing to that audience. My question to that is how does one know what their 'niche' is? If I was an artist, photographer, musician, how-to expert, chef........ it would be so much simpler coming up with that 'niche', but alas I am none of those professions. Instead I feel that I am a little bit of all of those things rolled into what makes me who I am. That being said, I have decided to wing it for now.
As I write this blog many fears creep to the front of my thoughts. What if no one reads it? What if I receive negative comments? What if I am a dud? There are so many what ifs just like anything else one sets out to try and accomplish. This has made me think of the 4-H motto I lived by for ten years of my life. Learn to do by doing. That is what I am going to do. There are many thoughts I have on various subjects; books, sports, music, cooking, children, dogs, news topics, that it should not be hard finding a topic to 'blog' about. I will pose a question to my readers (if there are any).
What should my 'niche' be? I know in the end that only I can answer that question but I am a believer in feedback and brainstorming.
With that I will leave with a thought- Why are highways built so close to the ground?
