I was not the easiest person to get along with during my teenage years and my mom unfortunately was my number one enemy. This eventually changed as I matured and went out into the world on my own. Now my mom is one of my closest friends. A day does not go by that I do not talk to my mom on the phone.
My mom has faced a lot of adversity in her life, especially within the last ten years. She is one of the strongest people I know and I have a ton of respect for her and the life she has had to endure lately. The one thing my mom loves most in this life is being with her kids and her grandchildren. I of course will buy her a card and some sort of mother's day gift but I know the one thing she wants most this mother's day is to be with her family. That is one gift I can definitely give her rain or shine.
Being with our loved ones is probably the number one gift we can give to our mothers for mother's day. It may only be in the form of a phone call or skype chat for some. For others it unfortunately has to be spent with memories and prayers for the mom's who have passed on. However we choose to celebrate the day, the important thing is to focus on the positives and realize how lucky we are to be mom's and to have had our wonderful mom's, aunt's, grandmothers and other mother figureheads in our lives.
Happy Mother's Day everyone!
Thought of the day: Why do British people never sound British whey they sing?
Quote of the day: God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers. Rudyard Kipling
