Valentine's Day for me should be about spending quality time with that person who means the most to me. Sure flowers, chocolates, jewelry, romantic suppers and puppies are all nice gifts to receive but I do not need those items to feel loved. I see those gifts as a way for florists, Hallmark and Hershey to make the majority of their revenue for the year! http://time.com/money
I will admit that it is easier to feel this way because I have that special someone in my life. Being single and dealing with Valentine's Day can be downright depressing! Funny how a day originally dedicated to a Christian martyr in the 5th century can make one feel that way! http://www.history.com/topics/valentines
Let's not overlook all of the people out there who do not have someone to share Valentine's Day with, or those who have lost their Valentine's!
It is too easy to lose sight of making sure the people in our lives know that they are loved and cared for. Instead of spending ridiculous amounts of money on objects, lets hug those that we have and be grateful that we can spend the day with them however we choose to do so! Sometimes it is the simple things!
Thought of the Day; If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a song about him?
Quote of the Day: Looking back, I have this to regret, that too often when I loved, I did not say so. Ray Stannard Baker
